Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality
Barrett Group UK Limited, continues to be a progressive and go to company.
We endeavour to protect all that work for and with us and will continue to increase our capabilities, year on year.
Our ability to undertake our duties has increased with the full-time appointment of Sean Watson, our HSEQ Manager. By engaging Sean, we now have the internal commitment to undertake the following areas;

Conducting regular site inspection and audit. Advising project managers, site managers, supervisors and skilled operatives, in safe working practices.

Monitoring workforce health through planned intervention schemes, such as HAVs monitoring, manual handling, dermatitis six monthly checks and general health checks to assist with early capture of potential work-related injuries.

We are also very serious about mental health and our project managers; site managers and supervisors are knowledgeable about mental health and how this effects behaviour and general health.
Health and Safety
Our most valuable asset is our workforce, without the hardworking dedicated individuals, the company does not exist, and our capability to grow and produce safe, quality works is not realised. Our commitment to safety and health is as good as it gets, we provide good quality workwear, that provides protection from potential site knocks, but is also comfortable and provides warmth when required.
Our experienced project managers write the safe systems of works, and then update our bank of risk assessments, specific to the works being undertaken. This is then reviewed by our HSEQ Manager, prior to being submitted. On site, our workers undertake familiarisation with the works and associated risks, and once happy, they sign-up to the documents. This process ensures that as a company, we have taken the appropriate steps to ensure the workforce remain safe. Continual planning, monitoring, evaluation and adjustment is undertaken throughout the project lifecycle to ensure we get it right, first time.
Environmental Management
Whilst not accredited to ISO 14001, we have adopted the standard, and this forms part of our Integrated Management System.

Quality Management
Having gained ISO 9001 – 2015, we have been reaccredited on two occasions and continue to grow our capability. Our HSQE Manager now manages the Quality Management System (QMS) and is continually updating our IMS to reflect our business needs and that of our clients.
Our accreditations for Construction Line and Achilles are further proof that we have the capability to perform well within a quality environment, but also, we take quality management seriously, with continued quality assurance and quality improvement.
What next
We will continue to strive for excellence, getting it right first time, getting the job done for our clients on budget and on time.
We will look at further internal development to bring on-board new talent, assisting those that want a future in construction, looking at innovation and development within the group.
We will continue to develop our existing workforce, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge to continually work to existing and new methodologies.
We will continue to be the leader in our field, the innovators, the contractor of choice as our current and past works speak for themselves.
