This was Barrett Group UK’s first contract from BAM Construction Ltd.
The Group was programmed to begin its sub contract works at the beginning of October 2013 for a period of 32 weeks. The works involve the excavation, pile breakdown and FRC construction of a 280 meter footbridge over 5 piers and 2 abutments, removal and replacement of all street furniture and all associated groundworks. The works involved working adjacent to and over the busy Alan Turning Way Dual Carriageway and Ashton New Road.
The completion of Manchester City Football Academy, successfully building 2 of the largest bridges in the UK during the previous year, together with the completion of works at North Doncaster Chord, positioned the Barrett Group UK as one of the UK’s leading FRC sub contractors.
